About Me
Doç. Dr. Nihat Tak is an Associate Professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Yıldız Technical University in 2016 with a dissertation on Recurrent Type-1 Fuzzy Functions for Time Series Forecasting. He also completed his M.Sc. in Statistics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (USA) and his B.Sc. in Statistics and Computer Science at Karadeniz Technical University.
Over the years, Dr. Tak has held academic positions at Bursa Technical University, Kırklareli University, and the University of Arkansas. He also served as Head of the Department of Econometrics and Chair of the Division of Statistics at Kırklareli University between 2022 and 2023.
His research focuses on statistical modeling, fuzzy logic, machine learning, and computational intelligence, with particular expertise in meta fuzzy functions, fuzzy forecasting, and hybrid predictive models. He has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Expert Systems with Applications, Applied Soft Computing, Information Sciences, Computational Economics, and the International Journal of Finance & Economics.
In addition to his research, Dr. Tak has presented his work at numerous international conferences and has actively contributed to the academic community as a reviewer and collaborator.
